Nafudakake

Karate Ranking

A nafuda is a small name board that is hung up in traditional dojos to indicate the names and current ranks of senior members (generally yudansha or black belt holders) of the dojo. The area in the dojo where the nafuda are hung is called the nafudakake.

Those listed here are either teachers and students of Shindo Budokai or are senior instructors who have contributed or influenced the development of Shotokan Karate, the Unified Karate-do Association and/or myself. Where the individual is from another dojo, their dojo or organization name is listed beside their name.
